Bonsai Sekiyu Kai

The local Carmichael newspaper noted the annual Bonsai Sekiyu Kai bonsai and viewing stone show celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this year. It's led by Sensai Johnny Uchida, a native of Kagoshima, Japan. The Agricultural Society of Japan honored him in 2001, and the California Golden State Bonsai Federation gave Sensai Uchida its Circle of Sensai award in 2003. He carries a Life Credential, one of the few vocational credentials issued for bonsai instruction in California.
