Comments: Pretty good maintenance run. Wind in my face going uphill on the way out. I'm liking my Garmin Forerunner 965 smartwatch and how it shows the current pace/mile. Helps with linking how I'm doing with expectations. The running portions today seemed consistently at 12:40/mile pace or better. I ended with more like 10:30/mile pace. When I looked at the post-workout review, it seems the average pace includes the 6-minute warmup (walking to the starting point). I can select tab Stats > Workout Intervals and review the Run Pace (11:31/mile today), but that does not include the walking portions. 🤔 Not bad, but not great. Oh well, lesson learned: do not include a warmup in the intervals workout, just start the workout when I begin running. Just realized I forgot the Garmin HRM-Pro Plus Heart Rate Monitor today 🙃 Sad. Remembered sunblock and anti-chafing. ✅ Listened to audiobook as I ran. Feeling a bit of a confidence boost at seeing my ability to run at a bit faster pace. Hoping the extra investment in cross-training and recovery is helping. Still have to figure out how I can an outfit similar to what I had back in 2006, since RaceReady is no more. 😛 Wondering when good time to get new pair of shoes. Currently using an existing pair of Brooks Levitate 3 (purchased c. February 2022). I was not running in 2022-2023, but did put in miles during lots of walks. They still feel pretty decent.
Any irregular feelings, aches, pains, heart rate, and so forth?: Sore calves at first, bit tired
