Comments: Felt pretty strong today. Monday was a relaxed holiday (Presidents' Day) with a relatively light day & better sleep last night. Had two shots of espresso in the morning so possibly cruising on that boost. Weather was pleasant but overcast. Felt some light sprinkles toward the end but mostly dry. Ran around some less-traveled streets in the neighborhood, just randomly running streets until time was up. Met one standoffish calico cat. Listened to audiobook. Had one encounter with a vehicle zooming around a corner as I crossed the street, causing me to spring off with my right foot reflexively (had looked twice but they were speeding). There was minimal danger but good reminder to always triple-check for traffic. Some news: I ordered a smart watch: Garmin Forerunner 965 (Whitestone band). This is my 3rd watch, after a Timex 5B501 Speed + Distance Watch (2006; $150), and a Timex Ironman Sleek 50-Lap Full-Size (2011; $65). After listening to the audiobook Chip War, thought it a good idea to support an American company rather than Coros, which has its roots in China. It could have gone either way, and it was forced a bit by wanting to get it for our "virtual 10K" this weekend: the Giant Race 2024 in Scottsdale, Arizona, which commemorates "the Opening Day of Spring Training in the middle of historic Old Town at Scottsdale Stadium." Their web site is...not yet updated for the virtual race (?) I get the sense everything virtual-related is on the honor system anyway, so not so important. It appears to allow for uploading race times via Strava or RunKeeper mobile apps. 🤔 In any case, this is just the 1st of 2 SF Giants-related races, with the 2nd in August. We signed up for this to complete the "Doubleheader Challenge".
Any irregular feelings, aches, pains, heart rate, and so forth?: Bit tired but OK
