Comments: New smartwatch arrived: Garmin Forerunner 965 (Whitestone and Powder Gray). As mentioned on Tuesday, this represents my third running watch and first Garmin (previously: Timex 5B501 Speed + Distance Watch (2006; $150); and a Timex Ironman Sleek 50-Lap Full-Size (2011; $65)). First impressions: mixed. It looks and feels great. Setup was easy. However, our financial institutions do not support Garmin Pay. 😛 Found a workaround via a mobile app (Revolut); will see how it goes. I ended up going with Garmin to support an American company (though they are domiciled in Switzerland for what seems like corporate tax-avoidance reasons 😛). Garmin seems to have manufacturing facilities in China, Taiwan, the UK, and the United States. The back of my Garmin Forerunner 965 watch says "Taiwan". Today I ran 30 minutes, another shorter mid-week maintenance run. Weather was pleasant. Ran around local streets; nothing really of interest happened. Finished one audiobook and started another.
Any irregular feelings, aches, pains, heart rate, and so forth?: Bit tired but OK

Timex 5B501 Speed + Distance Watch

My new watch. (EDIT: ~$150) It comes with a GPS unit that I can strap to my arm or clip to my shorts.
My guess? I'm never going to get up to 26.5 mph. :)
