Today I took an hour and tramped down to the UC Santa Cruz Porter Cave (formally known as Empire Cave), for the first time. No flashlight, so did not go down.
Hiked back up the hill on rabbit trails (a bit sketchy, at times, due to an old pair of Simple brand loafers, but we got there), ending up at Kresge College parking lot. Packed out a few items of trash and avoided poison oak and poison ivy. Fun fact: KC the owl represents the Kresge College mascot. Saw the plaque honoring Midas the koi fish, at Porter College.
