With double majors in neuroscience and English from Columbia University, and a stint as a Rhodes Scholar, his resume also includes work in the lab of neuroscientist and Nobel Laureate Eric Kandel, studying at Oxford with British literary critic Hermione Lee, and working as a cook at the famed French restaurant Le Bernardin in New York. Lehrer is editor-at-large at Seed Magazine, and a contributing editor at Wired. He also edits the "Mind Matters" blog for Scientific American. His first book, "Proust Was a Neuroscientist," argued that art and science offer different but complimentary views of the world. Lehrer's latest, "How We Decide," explores factors that influence decision-making and combines medical diagnostic data with real-life examples.
